Fuel prices in Leeds: what to know
Leeds sits where the M1, M62 and M621 meet, making it one of the busiest road hubs in the north of England. The constant flow of commuter and freight traffic supports a wide spread of forecourts, and prices can differ noticeably between the city centre, the inner ring road and the outer suburbs of Headingley, Roundhay and Morley.
Many Leeds drivers travel in from Wakefield, Bradford and the wider West Yorkshire belt, so a lot of refuelling happens on the commute rather than in the centre. Supermarket forecourts near the major retail parks usually offer the best value, while sites close to the motorway junctions tend to charge more.
How to save on fuel in Leeds
- Local tip. Stations right beside the M1 and M62 junctions are rarely the cheapest — a supermarket forecourt a short drive in usually wins.
